Are you traveling with a pet?
If you want to take your furry friend with you on your next flight you can use our cabin transport service where your companion can travel as hand luggage on all our flights!
Transporting your pet in the cabin varies in cost depending on where you are going:
For flights to and from United States and Canada, a charge of USD 125 is payable.
For flights on the rest of the international routes a charge of USD 100 is payable.
Note: charges do not include taxes, local taxes may apply. These charges may change without prior notice.
Dogs and cats must be at least eight weeks old, as due to their size they are prone to dehydration during the journey.
The weight of the pet, including the pet carrier, should not exceed 6 kg (13.2 pounds).
The maximum external dimensions of the pet carrier are: 43 cm (17 inches) long x 30 cm (12 inches) wide and 18 cm (7 inches) high. The carrier should be spill-proof and the animal must have sufficient space available to be able to stand up and turn around.
Only one (1) container per passenger is allowed with one (1) pet.
Request the service as far in advance of your flight as possible from our call center. Remember that only three pets are allowed in the cabin per flight.
If you are flying with another airline with an Interline agreement, you must ensure that it offers pet transport and what conditions apply.
Comply with the pet travel permissions of the country of origin and / or destination.
Comply with the dimensions and maximum weight of the pet and pet carrier.
The pet, during flight, is transported inside a spill-proof (waterproof) pet carrier. At no time should the pet be removed from the carrier.
Don't leave food or water in the pet carrier.
Responsibility for the pet and its well being is solely and exclusively that of the Passenger flying with it, or sent it in the hold. The Company assumes no responsibility for any injury and / or death of the animal, which may occur during transport.
Pet carriers for transporting pets in the cabin
If you do not have a pet carrier you can purchase one by going to one of our counters or by asking a staff member. Please note that availability is limited and depends on each airport.
Guide or assistance dogs
Specially trained animals to accompany disabled passengers are allowed inside the cabin without a pet carrier if the passenger is exercising complete control over them at all times.
These dogs do not count as "Live Animal" transport. It is understood that such animals are trained to perform their physiological functions at determined times and in determined places.
The Passenger will pay no additional charge for transporting his/her guide dog or for its weight. It will be included as checked baggage. There is no established maximum number of guide or assistance dogs allowed in the cabin.
Emotional support animals
For the pet to be accepted in the cabin it must not exceed 40 kilograms (88 pounds). In addition, we require that you present documentation (not more than one year old) from a licensed mental health professional that justifies why you should travel accompanied by the animal.
Note: Due to security restrictions, if you are traveling with an assistance animal you can't sit in a seat located in the emergency exit row.
We strongly suggest you implement the following measures:
The pet carrier should be one size bigger than normal.
The carrier must have ventilation on all four sides
Let your pet get used to the pet carrier, allow it to spend time inside it in the days prior to the flight.
